Team Liquid win the iBUYPOWER Fall Invitational, defeating Luminosity 2-1 (20-22 on de_inferno, 16-5 on de_cache, and 16-11 on de_mirage).
The third edition of the iBUYPOWER Invitational doled out an increased prize-pool of $15,000 for a weekend of online best-of-three bracket play featuring some of North America's strongest teams.
The biggest storyline leading up until the grand final was Conquest, the previous Sponsorless lineup, who nearly managed to unseat a struggling Luminosity lineup in a semifinal series where one map went into double overtime and the final map went into triple overtime.

The third place match, which was played before the grand final, eventually saw Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and his men of Conquest upset CLG and therefore guarantee themselves a payout of $2,000 for third place.
In the best-of-three grand final, Spencer "Hiko" Martin & co. of Team Liquid clashed with iBP Summer Invitational champions Luminosity (who were then Keyd Stars), the latter team having recently been narrowly defeated by the former in a best-of-five duel for the PGL Season 1 finals.
The first map was de_inferno and both teams attempted to feel the other out as well as gain much needed momentum for the later maps, and as a result both outfits refused to let up with the match going into double overtime. In the end, Marcelo "coldzera" David's dominant scoreline and a grittier Luminosity defense gave the Brazilians the map, 22-20.
de_cache was a cakewalk for Team Liquid, who had previously proven to be strong on the map against Luminosity, a team with not much cache presence in the first place. Eric "adreN" Hoag and his men took the map with ease: 16-5.
The final map of de_mirage saw the American team notch up a strong CT-sided run with 11-4 the result at the half. However, Luminosity won the second pistol and began to mount a comeback, going as close as bringing the score to 11-10.
Team Liquid called a tactical pause, which gave the team clearer-heads, and with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski leading the way in entries, Liquid pulled forward to win the third map 16-11.
